Empower have a dedicated Maintenance Department who ensure all of our properties are maintained to high standard.

We provide the following repairs services to all our houses:

  • Cyclical & Planned Repairs
  • Boiler Servicing
  • Safety and Security inspections
  • Routine Maintenance
  • General Maintenance
  • Pre & Post Inspections that ensure value for money
  • Gardening & Window Cleaning
  • Adaptations where necessary
All Empower’s Contractors and Technicians will contact you directly to arrange a suitable date and time to rectify your repairs.

We also offer a handyman service for which there will be a nominal charge.

Report a Repair

To report repairs during the day, Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 8.45am and 5pm, or Friday between the hours of 8.45am and 4pm, please contact Empower’s Maintenance Department with your repair request.

The Maintenance Department will log the details of your repair(s) and pass this over to the relevant Contractor.

All Empower’s Contractors and Technicians will contact you directly to arrange a suitable date and time to rectify your repairs.

Our Maintenance Response Times are as follows:

Emergency Repairs within 24 hours
Urgent Repairs within 7 days
Non-urgent Repairs within 28 days
Planned Maintenance in accordance with programme
Please note items which are reported as emergencies and are found not to be will be rechargeable to the Tenants.

Out of Hours Repairs

Should you have an emergency repair out of Empower’s office hours, between 5pm & 9am or over the weekend and bank holidays, please contact Empower’s Emergency on-call number 01257 260712 If this number is unavailable please dial 07791 763570

Empower class the following as emergencies:

  • Plumbing faults
  • Electrical faults
  • Broken windows
  • No heating
  • Security
  • Roofing

Emergency Help & Information

What should you do in the following emergencies:

Gas Leak
Should you have a gas leak you will need to locate your gas meter and turn it off.
You will then need to contact Transco on 0800 112 112 who will advise you further

No heating or hot water
Should you have no heating or hot water please contact Empower immediately and they will arrange for an engineer to visit as soon as possible

Plumbing Leak
Should you have a plumbing leak i.e. burst pipes etc, you will need to locate your water stop cock and turn it off immediately.
Once you have turned the water off you will need to contact Empower to report your leak.

Blocked/Overflowing Drains
Should you find your drains are blocked or overflowing please contact Empower immediately and they will arrange for an engineer to visit as soon as possible

Electricity Problems
Should your electricity not be working, please check your electricity consumer unit to identify what circuit has tripped, i.e. lights, plug sockets etc.
Once you have done this contact Empower’s Maintenance Department for further advice/assistance.

Power Cut
Should your electricity not be working, please check your electricity consumer unit to identify what circuit has tripped, i.e. lights, plug sockets etc.
If you find that none of the circuits have tripped you may be experiencing a power cut. Checking with your neighbours can clarify if you are having a power cut.

Broken Windows
Should you find a broken/smashed window in your home contact Empower’s Maintenance Department
