Lee Sugden - Interim CEO (2021)
Lee joined Empower in November 2021 as Interim CEO following the retirement of the previous postholder. Lee, a qualified accountant, has over 25 years experience working in senior leadership roles within the social housing sector. He was previously CEO of Salix Homes in Salford leading the Organisation between 2015 and 2021 following its stock transfer.
Michelle Lee Operations Director (2003)
Michelle has been employed by EHA since 2003, when the company started trading. Michelle has experience in Rent Management and oversees the day to day running of the office. Michelle has the following housing qualifications: Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3 National Certificate in Housing, AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, and BA in International Hospitality Management.
Nicola - Housing Services Manager (2006)
Since starting with EHA Nicola has experience with working within the Maintenance, Housing Management and the Rent Departments. Nicola has holds a CIH qualification for Supported Housing. Nicola now leads the Rents and Housing Management department. Nicola also holds a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy
Sharon - Development & Compliance Manager (2007)
Since starting with EHA Sharon has worked in within the Maintenance, Rent and Development Departments as well as providing housing related support to all tenants. Sharon continues to work alongside John in the development and also oversees the implementation of Compliance whilst liaising with the relevant departments. Sharon has received a CIH qualification for Housing, Advice and Information.
Margaret - Purchase Ledger Clerk (2012)
Margaret has been working with EHA since 2012 starting in the Maintenance Department, Margaret moved into our accounts department in 2016. Margaret is currently studying for Level 2 Accounting Foundation Course
Rachel - Facilities Officer (2015)
Rachel has been working with EHA since 2015 in the Maintenance Department, as well as providing housing related support to all tenants. As part of her role, Rachel, plans day to day and routine maintenance repairs, as well as stock conditions and gas safety inspections. Rachel holds a certification in Fire Safety and is a designated Fire Officer.
Anthony - Building Quality Manager (2016)
Anthony has been working with EHA since December 2016 as a Building Quality Manager and leads the maintenance department. Anthony has worked within construction over the last 35 yrs and is a qualified time served carpenter and joiner. He holds a Construction site manager NVQ Level 4 CSCS card. Anthony works alongside the development and compliance departments.
John - Development & Facilities Manager (2017)
Since joining EHA John has worked within the Development department overseeing the development phase for all newly aquired properties. John has a wealth of knowledge in the supported living sector.
Lesley - Maintenance Officer (2017)
Lesley joined EHA in November 2017 as a maintenance officer and now works within the Compliance department as a compliance officer. Part of Lesley’s role is to ensure that all certificates/servicing of equipment is kept up to date and the planning in of day-to-day remedial works following inspections. Lesley has worked within the housing sector for many years.
Carl - Groundsman (2018)
Carl joined EHA in March 2018 as a groundmen and carries out external gardening works to all of our locally based properties. He has a wealth of experience within the gardening & maintenance field.
Carl holds PA6 & PA1 for hazardous spraying, Health & Safety CSCS card and is a qualified first aider.
Samantha - Housing Tenant Support Officer (2020)
Samantha joined EHA in January 2020 as a Housing Tenant Support Officer providing support within both Rents and Housing Management departments. Samantha now works within the Rents department assisting with housing benefit queries and providing support for all new tenancies and housing benefit claims. Samantha holds a certification in Fire Safety and is a designated Fire Officer.
Andy - Maintenance Technician (2021)
Andy joined EHA in July 2021 as a Maintenance Technician and carries out the day-to-day repairs and maintenance to all of our local properties as well as properties further afield.
Andy holds a Health & Safety CSCS card (General Operative).
Catherine - Housing Tenant Support Officer (2021)
Catherine joined EHA in October 2021 as a Housing Tenant Support Officer providing support within the Rents department. Catherine assists with housing benefit queries along with providing support for all new tenancies and housing benefit claims.
Carol - Office Administrator (2021)
Carol joined EHA in November 2021 as the office Receptionist providing administrative support to all departments. Carol holds First Aid, Site Management Safety Training Scheme and Construction Safety Certification Scheme qualifications and is a designated First Aider.
Richard - Housing Tenant Support Officer (2021)
Richard joined EHA in November 2021 as a Housing Tenant Support Officer providing support within the Housing Management department. Richard assists with housing management queries and completes Performance Review Visits to all properties within our portfolio. Richard holds Mental Health First Aid and NEBOSH qualifications.
Jonathon - Maintenance Officer (2022)
Jonathan joined EHA in April 2022 as a Maintenance Officer and worked within the IT profession prior to taking his post with us.
As part of his role, Jonathan, plans day to day and routine maintenance repairs, as well as stock conditions and gas safety inspections.
Lesley - Maintenance Officer (2022)
Lesley joined EHA in April 2022 as a Maintenance Officer and has worked within the housing sector for 15 years and holds CIH qualifications Level 2 & 3. As part of her role, Lesley, plans day to day and routine maintenance repairs, as well as stock conditions and gas safety inspections.

Parking: Limited parking available at the back of the building on Empower’s private car park. With two allocated disabled parking bays to the front of the building. On-street parking is available for up to an hour. There are also pay and display car parks nearby.
Accessibility: Empower’s offices have widened doorways to reception and level access ramps to the main entrance.
