Sara Sharrock has been announced as the new Chief Executive officer for Empower Housing Association and will officially take up the role on 7 November 2022.
Sara Sharrock, who has been Executive Director of Resources at Salix Homes since 2020, takes over as CEO from Lee Sugden who has been coving the role in an Interim capacity since November 2021. When she starts her role Sara will be responsible for providing over 211 specialised supported homes across England and Scotland.
Sara has worked in the housing sector for many years and has held senior leadership roles for providers including Irwell Valley Housing Association and Ashton Pioneer Homes before joining Salix Homes in 2020.
Commenting on her appointment as CEO, she said: “I’m very much looking forward to building on the great work done by our colleagues providing excellent services to our tenants.
“I am delighted to have been given this opportunity. Empower is an amazing Organisation providing specialised homes to some of the most vulnerable. I am I look forward to giving more people the opportunity to live in a quality supported home that allows them to live their life to the full.”

Lee Sugden, who has been CEO in an interim capacity since November 2021 said “It has been a privilege to work with the team at Empower for the last year. The Organisation provides some of the highest quality social housing I have seen to some of the most vulnerable tenants.”
