Empower Housing Association is continuing to respond proactively to address the issues raised by the Regulator of Social Housing in its recent Regulatory Notice. To strengthen governance, five new board members have been appointed with effect from 1 October 2021. These are Marcus Evans, Group Director – Governance and Compliance at Sovini Group; Mark Dunford, Group Executive Director (Corporate Services) – Together Housing Group; Rob Wakefield, Chief Executive – Community Gateway Association; Stephanie Murphy, Chief Executive – Castles and Coasts Housing Association and Tracy Woods, Chief Finance Officer – First Choice Homes Oldham.
Les Paul, Andy Wallace and Natalia Delgado stood down from the board on 17 November 2021.
The board has also appointed Lee Sugden as Interim Chief Executive to support the delivery of a comprehensive action plan to address regulatory compliance. Lee said, “I am delighted to be able to work with the team at Empower and all stakeholders and to work collaboratively and closely with the Regulator to secure the best outcome for the Association”.
